Peptide Safely

How to store peptides

Heat, light and moisture break peptides down. Store them right and they keep their strength. Store them wrong and you're injecting something weaker, or something that's gone off.

Before mixing (powder)

  • Short term (weeks): fridge, 2–8 °C.
  • Long term (months): freezer, −20 °C.
  • Keep vials in their box, away from light.
  • Let a frozen vial reach room temperature before opening, so moisture doesn't condense inside.

After mixing

  • Fridge only, 2–8 °C. Never freeze a mixed vial; freezing and thawing damages peptides.
  • Use it within about 3–4 weeks.
  • Keep it upright, capped and in the dark.

Signs it's gone bad

  • Cloudiness or floating particles.
  • A color change.
  • It was left warm for a long time, for example in a hot car.

When in doubt, throw it out. A new vial costs less than an infection.

Travelling

Use a small insulated case with a cold pack, keep vials out of direct contact with ice, and carry them in your hand luggage, never in a hot car.

Common questions

Can peptides be left out of the fridge?

Dry powder tolerates room temperature for short periods, like shipping. Once mixed, keep it in the fridge.

Can I freeze reconstituted peptides?

It's not recommended. Ice crystals and thawing can damage the peptide chain.
